South Boston-with Whitey Bulger.

Originally a pasture for residents of Dorchester, annexed to Boston and used as a place to contain less desirable city institutions, residents of  'Southie'  developed an insular and somewhat defensive attitude towards the rest of the city.  Often considered a separate socio-religious enclave by the predominantly Irish Catholic immigrants who came to settle there, today South Boston is a vibrant community with a story all its own.  I attempt to tell this story, and explain the factors that led to South Boston being what it is, and highlight interesting, and sometimes obscure details that I hope will inform and entertain.  I have two versions of this 36X24print, after hearing complaints from South Boston residents about my original.  One print features the noted gangster Whitey Bulger, the other does not.
